Electrical Safety Demonstrations
CEC is deeply committed to electrical safety education and that’s why we conduct two types of electrical safety demonstrations upon request.
A CEC representative uses a table-top safety demonstration to show young children and their parents how to stay safe around electricity. It uses a low voltage demonstration board and safety gloves. Children learn why it is so important to stay away from downed power lines, to never fly kites around power lines and to never climb trees near power lines as well as other life-saving lessons.
We’re very excited about our new live line electrical safety trailer (CEC Safety Circuit). It’s a powerful way to educate larger groups including our members, first responders, and the public about the potential dangers of electricity and how to stay safe around power lines. These demonstrations provide real visuals (using a high voltage power line setup on a trailer) to show a few scenarios that cause power outages and the especially the consequences of what can happen when safety rules are not followed. By seeing sparks, arcs, and the effects of contact firsthand, people gain a deeper understanding of how to prevent accidents and protect lives. It’s an engaging, memorable, and effective tool for promoting electrical safety awareness in the communities served by CEC.
