New Electric Service

CEC is committed to providing reliable electric service to its members. CEC provides electric service to rural areas in parts of six counties including; Covington, Coffee, Dale, Escambia, Geneva and Crenshaw. CEC maintains more than 2,700 miles of power lines. If you are new to the CEC area, please review the information provided below, otherwise follow the link below to apply for new service.

New Service (Required Deposits, Etc.)

Deposit requirements of Covington Electric Cooperative shall be as follows:

 

 

(a) For houses, mobiles homes, pumps and related type services (new service and/or new accounts) with ID and good credit information:  Membership Fee: $5.00
Security Deposit: $50.00
Connection Fee: $30.00 (non-refundable)
Total: $85.00

 

(b) For houses, mobiles homes, pumps and related type services (new service and/or new accounts) without ID and good credit information:  Membership Fee: $5.00
Security Deposit: $400 or two months, high average, bill (whichever is greater),
Connection Fee: $30.00 (non-refundable)
Total: $435.00

Rental Lease Agreement

If you are renting or leasing the property where electric services is being requested, CEC will require a copy of the rental/lease agreement. If you do not have a signed rental/lease agreement from your landlord, please click  Lease Rental Agreement Form to print a copy of our standard rental/lease form and provide a signed copy from your landlord.
