Covington Electric Cooperative (CEC) is proud to recognize its 2026 Electric Cooperative Foundation (ECF) Scholarship recipients, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated strong academic achievement and commitment to their communities. This year’s recipients are Levi Wilburn of Andalusia High School; Ruby Grace Lowe and DeSani Stevens of Brantley High School; Lyla Kate Bruce and Mary Elizabeth Weeks of Kinston High School; Brylie Griffin and Kayla Hughes of Pleasant Home School; Connor Blackwell and Grayson Hodges of Red Level School; Rylee Grace Sanders of Straughn High School; and Brayden Benbow of Zion Chapel School.
CEC awards two $1,000 scholarships at each of the six high schools it serves—one designated for a student planning to attend a four-year university and one for a student planning to attend a technical college. In addition, CEC offers two $1,000 at-large scholarships to eligible seniors who attend high schools not directly served by the cooperative but meet the same guidelines.
CEC’s scholarship program reflects its ongoing commitment to education and to supporting students within its service area as they pursue higher education. Scholarship opportunities are available each year to graduating high school seniors who are dependents of CEC members.
All applications are received and evaluated by the ECF, based in Montgomery, Alabama, which also selects the scholarship recipients on behalf of CEC. Scholarship information is shared through Alabama Living magazine, CEC’s website, social media channels, and CEC’s monthly e-newsletter, Power Posts.
Covington Electric Cooperative is an electric distribution cooperative serving approximately 25,200 meters across portions of Covington, Coffee, Dale, Crenshaw, Geneva, and Escambia counties.
