H2O Water Heater Participants: PowerSouth has initiated a peak shaving event for CEC members with load control devices on their water heaters. It will take place on Feb. 1 from 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM. Members who signed up to participate in the H2O program received a discounted water heater at the time of purchase and understand the benefit of this program which is to help shave power consumption during high peak demand periods. The H2O participants should have adequate hot water stored in their tanks for normal usage during this time. We appreciate the cooperation of our H2O participants during this peak shaving event. CEC unveils new modern logo reflecting growth, connections, and future vision.

Covington Electric Cooperative (CEC) is proud to announce the launch of its newly modernized logo, a refreshed visual identity that reflects the cooperative’s continued growth, innovation, and commitment to the communities it serves.

CEC has evolved significantly over the last eight decades. What began as a mission to bring electricity to rural families has expanded into a multi-layered cooperative that delivers reliable energy, advanced technology, and essential services like fiber broadband across developing areas and underserved regions. The updated logo represents this transformation—maintaining the spirit of the co-op’s legacy while embracing a clearer, more contemporary design built for today’s digital communications and tomorrow’s advancements.

“Our cooperative has grown tremendously, but our dedication to our members has remained constant,” said Mark Parker, President and CEO of CEC. “This new logo symbolizes progress while respecting the history that brought us here. It’s a visual reminder that we’re honoring our past and confidently looking toward the future.”

The redesign improves consistency across all platforms—from mobile devices and digital media to fleet vehicles and signage. It also helps to ensure the brand scales are clean for modern printing standards and provides a unified identity that reflects all areas of CEC’s service territory.

“This update marks an important milestone for our organization,” added Parker. “We wanted a logo that captures the cooperative’s forward momentum while staying true to the values that define who we are.”

Members will begin seeing the new logo appear across communications, equipment, uniforms, and facilities over the coming months. The transition will be phased in gradually to ensure a smooth and cost-effective rollout.

CEC remains focused on delivering safe, reliable, and affordable service—while evolving to meet the needs of future generations.

CEC is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative serving approximately 25,000 meters in parts of six counties including Coffee, Crenshaw, Covington, Geneva, Dale and Escambia.
